Alternative Living Project in Duisburg

During the past couple of months we have distributed almost 111,000 Alternative Living flyers in German. Duisburg Center served as the hub of these activities. After the weekly group meditation sessions on Saturday evening and Sunday, all the initiates took flyers with them to spread them near their homes. In this way, not only Duisburg and the nearby areas received the message, but also it expanded further out to areas such as Aachen, Monheim in the Rheinland, Cologne, Bonn, Mainz, Rüsselsheim, Erfurt, Pforzheim, Freudenstadt and Bremen. Fellow initiates passed out flyers on the streets, placed them in bookstores, drugstores, health food stores, libraries and schools. Copies of the flyers were even occasionally put in commuter buses and trains. Many were tucked in mailboxes or sent through the post. We handed them out and made them available at the universities of Duisburg and Aachen. It is especially important to reach many schools and universities where there are young people who will shape the society in the future. Initiates who work in doctors’ offices regularly distributed the flyers to their patients.

Several initiates took the initiative to publish the Alternative Living message in their regional newspapers so that, up to now, the message went out in three newspapers.

Feedback from the flyers has been very positive. Many people read the message eagerly. Some asked about details and wanted more information and many, many people gave a spontaneous warm response. Most of the recipients carefully placed the flyers into their bags, and will hopefully check out the Internet sites or share the news with loved ones. Some of them requested more flyers in order to distribute them, which made us very happy.
