While on the Path

God Loves Me

By sister initiate Devyan Senjaya,

When I was 9-year-old, there was a scout activity at my school that I was very eager to join, but my mother would not allow me to. I was so disappointed about this that I started to pray sincerely to God that to this day I remember my prayer very clearly. I said, “God…, I really want to join the scout activity. If You fulfill my wish, I will present four sticks of incense (usually people only put three sticks of incense while they pray) to You.”

Soon after that my mother gave me the permission to attend the scout activity. I was so surprised because my mother was very strict with all her children. When she said “No,” it would rarely become “Yes.” With all the excitement in my heart, I said to God, “Dear God, my mother has given me the permission to go and as promised I am here presenting You with four sticks of incense. Thank You God.”

When the incense burned about one fourth of the way down, my father saw and immediately took one of the burning incense sticks away. He scolded me for being careless in counting the number of incense. At that moment, I kept quiet and I said to God in silence, “Dear God, forgive me for my father has prevented me from keeping my agreement with You, but at least you received four incense sticks for a while.”

This was such an unforgettable memory of a prayer from a little innocent girl. As I grew older, I remembered my sweet little prayer to God whenever I felt hopeless facing life’s bitter and tough lessons. I would always pray deeply to God asking for help and Hes has always given me an answer! All my sadness in my heart disappears whenever I pray to God.

One day I wondered in my heart “Who are You really? Are You a Quan Yin Boddhisatva, Buddha or Deva? Please tell me who You are so that I could pay my gratitude to You.” Suddenly I received an answer that said, “I am who I am. I will appear when you’re in a pure and tranquil state of mind.” At that time I did not fully understand what this meant, but I felt so peaceful and blissful for many days after.

Ever since I’ve known of Master’s teaching three years ago, and got initiated in 2004, I have felt so peaceful. I know that I have found the way back to Home because I have the “power” that surpasses anything! I know that I have love from the Almighty that will always be with me. The love that I feel all the time is from You, Master. This is the love that I have always been looking for and that many people do not get to experience. I am such a lucky person to have it in this lifetime. I thank You dearly, Master.

Here is a poem dedicated to You.

The Quickest Delivery

Is there any vehicle that can transport on time?

Because it’s very urgent and must arrive fast.

This transport vehicle must use the melody of sound and light

To send my words to Mother, that I miss Her so dearly.

I wrap a package with white clouds…

Decorated with a colorful rainbow.

Oh, Buddha from all directions…

Help me so that this package will arrive safely in Mother’s hands.

Sorry… for making trouble to Buddha

I will fix my vehicle so that it functions well

To meet Mother and tell Her

That I am tired of playing the game in this world.

I yearn to go back Home

To meet my family there.

Wait for me oh my brothers and sisters that have arrived there.

Greet us with joy and the rhythm of the beautiful melody.
