Since the time when the Mainland initiates silently distributed the Alternative Living flyers, many wonderful changes have happened. For example:

One day, when I was taking a walk on campus, I saw a stainless steel poster on the lawn, it said, “Plants and grass have feelings; please take a different path.” In the past, most of the posters would say, “Don’t step on the lawn and plants. Trespassers will be fined.” Now the content has changed. That’s because people have become more compassionate. I feel deeply that human consciousness has been elevated due to God’s mercy and grace.

Another day, my spouse came home from a vegetarian restaurant and told me that the restaurant had such good business, people had to wait in line. The owner of the restaurant wanted to open another one. This vegetarian restaurant is the only one in our area. The interior decoration is fairly good but the business was rather slow. During the past month, things have changed. Initiates placed many flyers at the restaurant. The restaurant put their own address on the flyer then gave it to their customers. In the end, our flyer became their best advertisement. More and more people have become vegetarians. Of course the restaurant’s business has boomed!

One day, I saw pupils carrying a paper box and they were ready to set a sparrow free. They had taken a sick and weak sparrow home to take care of it and release it when it recovered. This type of scene would have been almost impossible in the past. In the past, no sparrow or magpie dared to set their foot in our area. But now even pigeons are free to wander around and look for food. Almost no one would hurt them. Everyone protects and feeds them!
