[Seoul] On April 22, Golden Year 4 (2007), a beautiful vegetarian restaurant named “Home of the 5th World” was opened by fellow initiates in downtown Seoul. As the name suggests, it provides not only good food to guests, but also spirituality.
The restaurant is decorated with Master Ching Hai’s art works and the entire restaurant looks like a beautiful and romantic art gallery. Moreover, it has three large LCD TVs playing Supreme Master TV at all times, so guests can watch the TV programs in any seat of the restaurant. Also all dining tables have a short spiritual message placed on them.
The restaurant owners buy half-ready foods from a vegetarian
food company and the chefs quickly cook and provide delicious vegetarian
meals to the guests. In this way, it’s very easy to operate a vegetarian
restaurant, without needing many staff members, and will significantly
facilitate the spreading of the compassionate diet: vegetarianism.

Draws Big Attention
[Incheon] From April 13 to April 24, Golden Year 4 (2007), Incheon initiates held three vegetarian lectures at Green Korea, a major Korean environmental and ecological group, in Incheon.
The series of lectures drew widespread attention among members of Green Korea, and they were very interested in vegetarianism and health. In particular, on April 20 during the second lecture, audience members were treated to delicious vegetarian dishes prepared by the initiates. Additionally, Supreme Master TV information and Alternative Living flyers were also provided. The attendees were deeply moved by the initiates’ sincere preparations, and were impressed by the wonderful tastes of the vegetarian dishes!
Green Korea staff and members said they understood the association
between vegetarianism and ecology, and were also convinced that the vegetarian
meal is nutritiously balanced by itself and could be wonderful for alternative
living! Now Incheon initiates are very encouraged by the successful lectures
and are planning to hold more vegetarian events for Incheon citizens.
[Gwangju] Earth Day has been held annually since 1970 to enlighten people worldwide of the importance of protecting the environment. On April 22, Golden Year 4 (2007), Gwangju City held an Earth Day event with a variety of activities.
About 30 NGOs (Non governmental organizations) participated. They requested vegetarian lunch boxes from our Gwangju Center because they are well aware of how vegetarianism helps the environment. So, our fellow initiates happily provided 150 lunch boxes for them.
The activities included showing people how to reduce CO2 emissions, how to recycle, and how to reduce their impact on the environment with the foods they eat, including organic foods and vegetarian alternatives.
We actively carried out Alternative Living promotions during the event. We provided free vegetarian sampling and had displays of Master Ching Hai’s books and environmental books. In addition, we carried colorful signs informing people of the benefits of the vegetarian diet. We also played Supreme Master TV on a large screen TV on the street.
Our activities on the Earth Day were shown on the TV news of
KBS and MBC in Korea.

With deep compassion for animals and concerned about repeated outbreaks
of epidemic diseases among animals and humans, Master has offered
the world a fundamental solution to the problem by personally designing
a friendly but convincing leaflet entitled “Alternative Living”
to remind people to choose the vegetarian diet and stop killing
in order to overcome global medical crises and save our fellow beings.
Master has also instructed all initiates to share this message with
their brothers and sisters in every corner of the world. In response,
the practitioners have initiated an all-out effort to share Her
words of love. |
To keep pace with the planet’s ongoing spiritual elevation, the local centers of The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association are holding more and more video seminars and other Truth-sharing events.
