Shining World Leadership Awards
 

The Shining World Leadership Award is an honor offered by Supreme Master Ching Hai in recognition of outstanding effort and enlightened leadership in creating a bright future for humanity. It is presented with compliments and gratitude to recognize exemplary kindness and positive acts by governments, leaders, and individual benefactors around the world. The rating in hearts is a symbol of love from God and to encourage compassion toward all beings.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) provides US$31.5 million to rehabilitate and reconstruct irrigation systems in Aceh and Nias, Indonesia.

Canada spends another $200 million Canadian dollars on reconstruction in Afghanistan.

Canada donates US$100,000 to an HIV/AIDS program for adolescent girls in Africa. The money has been channeled through Daughters of Africa.

Irena Sendler is honored by her native Poland for helping 2,500 Jewish children out of the Warsaw ghetto during World War II. She has also been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

The Paris Club forgives US$18 billion in outstanding debt owed by Nigeria after Nigeria uses extra revenues from high oil prices to repay US$12 billion in debt to the Paris Club.
